I'm always contemplating ideas for paintings, so when I stumbled into this charming scene of a wombat's unexpected visit by a friendly critter, I thought ah-ha!
I titled this painting "Friendly Critter"© 
I love wombats! I have had the great privelege of enjoying seeing them in the wild. I actually have had the company of one for about an hour, while I was drawing outside. It munched on grass about a metre and a half from me the entire time I was sitting on my stool drawing. I thanked it several times aloud for keeping me company. It just ignored me and munched away.
I drew "Friendly Critter" freehand, as I do all of my artwork, and painted this cheery scene on Clairefontaine 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper. It is approximately 15 x 21 cm (A-5 size).
