Getting a qualification involves a lot of studying, reading, researching and writing assignments, doing tests or sitting exams and more. But all that hard work is worth it when you are celebrating a successful completion and enjoying a well-deserved break from it.

I was commissioned to paint this painting by parents whose daughter was graduating. I think it is a great idea to put a graduate cap on a wombat!

I do find drawing the harder part of the process and consequently enjoy the painting part a lot more than the drawing part.

I really enjoyed painting this little fellow and the sweet feeling of success when I finished it.

"Graduation Siesta" captures the sweet serenity of success. This image makes a memorable gift for a newly graduated student. Different sized print are available at

Thanks for visiting and I hope that you enjoy the wide variety of forms that success comes in. Cheers for now, from PJ Paintings
