Hello,
Thank you for visiting,
I’m not sure who introduced Charlie Chaplin to these two or why they are such big fans of him?? Possibly because emus don’t have a language or birdsong, and that they can’t understand English? Miming is a universal language, and they probably find all of Charlie Chaplin’s antics hilarious.

I titled this Artline and watercolour painting "Bed Time"©
Emus make very low-pitched non-vocal sounds including deep rolling grunts and thumping or booming notes which can be audible at up to two kilometres. I have been lucky enough to hear their low rumbling, thunder-like sound at very close proximity. It is phenomenal!! It felt like the ground was transporting the sound and it was vibrating. The closest resemblance of this sound I have heard is a lion’s roar at the Melbourne Zoo. Equally phenomenal.
The first prompt word for the 2025 Inktober Challenge is Mustache. This drawing also ticks off some other Inktober prompt words. Can you spot them?

For those of you new to the Inktober Challenge, it is a drawing challenge where a daily drawing prompt word is given for the entire month of October. The challenge has flexibility. Thirty-one drawings don’t have to be necessarily drawn, prompt words can be combined.
