Perusing Oatlands

Hello! I hope that you are well.

This past year I've been travelling back and forth from Hobart to Oatlands and back in Tasmania, drawing some of the gorgeous cottages and buildings.

Oatlands is a small, historical town located in the Midlands of Tasmania. It has an extensive collection of well-preserved Georgian architecture. In fact, it is Australia's largest collection of sandstone Georgian buildings. There are 150 of them, mostly convict-built, including 87 along the main street.

This gem of a town is well worth a visit!

The Weaver's Cottages Studio, 104 High Street, Oatlands, is hosting an exhibition of the urban sketches until May 25, 2025.

Cottage on High, drawn from across the street. The original has sold.

Quality prints of "Cottage on High" are available at https://pjpaintings.com/collections/the-world

This cottage is located on High Street, which is the main street running through Oatlands.

This painting is titled "Fourplex".

I played with their proportions and loved painting this quirky scene. It was so much fun stretching the cottages and making them taller than they are in reality.

I painted all four cottages on one sheet of paper. The original is for sale at the Weaver's Cottages Studio in Oatlands, Tasmania https://weaversoatlands.com.au/. The original painting is approximately 60 cm in length x 32 cm in height. There are also prints available at https://pjpaintings.com/collections/the-world

Wishing you a wonderful, quirky day.

Warmest regards, from Patricia (PJ Paintings)
