Salamanca Market January 18, 2025

Hello!
I hope that you have been able to enjoy lovely blue skies and sunshine like we had today at Salamanca Market. It felt a little strange very early this morning when as I started driving across the Tasman Bridge all the lights on the bridge suddenly switched off.
My first customer was a mother and daughter visiting from Adelaide, SA. The daughter bought a Silent Disco print for her boyfriend, who loves penguins.
Little penguins come to Tasmania's shores to breed.
Silent Disco Quality prints available at https://pjpaintings.com/.../birds/products/dancing-penguins
A family from New Zealand, who saw my artwork in Richmond at Peppercorn Gallery, purchased a Hayride and Bathing Beauties prints.
A print of my original painting, titled, Hayride
A Glamour Girls tote bag was purchased for a couple’s sister-in-law. They are visiting from Eugene, USA. https://pjpaintings.com/.../products/tote-bag-glamour-girls
A Morning Melody print is travelling home to Adelaide.
The original painting I painted of a cute wombat in a yellow dress with a birthday cake and one candle was purchased for baby Evelyn with a pink bow in her hair. She gave me a gorgeous smile, too! This is the link if you would like to see the original painting.
Two other original paintings were purchased today. One was of an urban sketch of a historic house on George Street, Port Moody, B.C., Canada was purchased. The bright spring green maple tree caught my eye. I love the colour of the new leaves on a maple tree. I sat on the other side of the street to draw it. The couple has moved to Hobart from Newcastle, NSW three months ago. He also bought a Lazy Days print.
This is the house I drew.
The other original painting was purchased by a couple that visit Melbourne often. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the emus boarding a bus in downtown Melbourne.
Linda, an enthusiastic PJ Paintings Facebook follower, visited my stall with friends. It was a lively and happy group and so wonderful to meet a long-time follower and supporter. They bought a Hanging Out tote bag, wombat prints and a Salamanca Saturdays print.
This is a tote bag with the image of a relaxing wombat in a hammock. The image is printed on both sides of the washable cloth bag. The hammock has gum leaves, nuts and flowers pinned to it. This image is painted by Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade.
I met delightful people from around the world today, France, Netherlands, Argentina and more. But as the saying goes … all good things come to an end, and indeed Salamanca Market did just that.
Wishing you a great upcoming week.
Cheers from, Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade
