Salamanca Market January 25, 2025

Hello to everyone,This morning there was a peculiar bridge-behaviour event. Before 5:30 am, I drove around the corner to encounter a long line up of cars slowly going towards the bridge. The middle lane was moving well but not the left one. I can’t easily merge with my vision being blocked with stock on the passenger side, so my crossing was extra slow. Very strange so early in the morning. There have been ties when I was the only car on the Tasman Bridge on Saturday mornings. https://www.ccc.tas.gov.au/explore/history/

I had a great visit with my best school friend, forged in primary school and the friendship continued through adulthood. I had so much fun. We had an awesome time at MONA on Thursday. Yesterday, I sadly dropped her off at the airport. https://www.discovertasmania.com.au/things-to-do/museums/mona/

My first customer of the day was a couple visiting from Wollongong, NSW. https://www.visitwollongong.com.au/things-to-do/ They purchased a “Maggie” medium sized tote bag for their friend, who lives in South Australia. It’s going to be her next year’s Christmas present.

My next customers were from a suburb I had not heard of before, Tootgarook, VIC. They bought a Maggie cushion cover for their mother’s next year Christmas present. https://pjpaintings.com/collections/birds

Then, a 14-year-old, bought a Maggie & Maggie print for a gift for his mother.

A couple that saw a platypus in Derby, Tasmania, a little town that was dying and revived by building many mountain bike riding tracks, purchased a Hammock Life print. They are beginner mountain bike riding and rode some of the tracks. https://www.discovertasmania.com.au/regions/launceston-and-north/derby/

                                                           Hammock Life

A daughter bought Hammock Life for her mother, who started a botanical watercolour course. https://pjpaintings.com/collections/wombats/products/daydreaming-a-platypus-in-a-hammock

Wombat Adventurer was purchased for baby Marley Zander. Their friend, who bought it for the family, told me that the print was perfect, an adventurous wombat for an adventurous family. https://pjpaintings.com/collections/wombats/products/wombat-adventurer

                                                     Wombat Adventurer

A couple, visiting Tasmania for two weeks, before going to their home in New Zealand. They also have a home in the UK and live there during the warmer months each year. They purchased some bookmarks and a print, but I can't remember which print!

A family bought a Who Says Emus Can’t Fly!?! print for the father of the family who couldn’t make the trip. He enjoys dirt biking.

Wishing you a lovely and restful weekend.

Cheers from, Patricia (PJ) Hopwood-Wade

Surprise of the day was – how popular all things Australian Magpies were today.
