Bin Chicken SOLD

The Australian white ibis is native to Australia. Due to its increasing presence in urban settings and its past-time of rummaging in rubbish bins with its long, curved beak, it has acquired the unenviable “bin chicken” or “tip turkey” nicknames.

It is becoming an icon of Australia’s popular culture despite that some of the population view them as a pest and aren’t too enamoured with their new-found hobby, including this chicken, who is saying, "Sooooo, you're the one giving us a bad name!".

This bright watercolour painting is painted on Khadi Mill paper, made from recycled cotton rags, painted by Patricia Hopwood-Wade. It has my full signature on the back of the painting.  The painting is approximately 20 x 20 cm.
