Green Turtles are unique among sea turtles because they are herbivores, eating mostly seagrasses and algae. Their diet is what gives their fat a greenish colour (not their shells), which is where their name comes from. Green turtles are found throughout the world, including Australia and they are recorded as occasional visitors to Tasmania.
I painted the turtle with watercolour and used an .003 Micron Archival Ink pen to draw the unfurling sea plants.
This print is printed on William Turner 310gsm print version, textured watercolour paper with archival inks, to look and feel like a watercolour painting. No wonder I have so many people ask me if the print is an original painting!
This print run is an unlimited print run. The prints are a square format.
The approximate image sizes are:
A-4 sized print is 21 x 22 cm
A-3 sized print is 24.5 x 25.5 cm
A-2 sized print is 36 x 36 cm
A-1 sized print is 51 x 51 cm
The image has a border around it so the overall print is little larger than the dimensions above.
