I visited the gorgeous town of Oatlands, located in central Tasmania where this bright blue door caught my eye. Oatlands is a beautifully preserved historic town, famous for possessing the largest collection of Georgian architecture, colonial sandstone buildings in Australia. I drew and inked this eye-catching house while sitting on the other side of the street. I added paint at home.
I was going to paint the grass, and then I stopped myself. I'm so glad that I didn't introduce another colour into the painting. I love the simplicity, the bamboo shades, blue door and rusty corrugated iron roof.
This painting is on Arches 310gsm cold pressed, watercolour paper, beautiful, light creamy paper. It has my full signature on the back of the painting. The painting is approximately 20 x 30 cm. It is a one-off original and there are no prints made of it.
