Original painting of a little red cottage

Frequently I do urban sketching, which involves sitting outdoors, drawing, and sometimes painting, the view in front of you. I particularly like to draw cottages and houses. 

I saw and drew this home on location in Latrobe, Tasmania. How could I resist a bright red, little cottage with two big, dark chimneys!?!

I am especially pleased with this painting because of the looseness I achieved. I love the balance between detail and liveliness. There's enough suggestion for the viewer to know there's a picket fence, corrugated iron roof and that it was a bright, blue sky on the day I drew and painted this while sitting on the footpath on the other side of the street from it. 

This watercolour painting was painted on Clairefontaine 300gsm cold pressed, watercolour paper. It has my full signature on the back of the painting. The painting is approximately 12 x 12 cm. It is a one-off original and there are no prints made of it.
